This weekend I had time to reflect a bit. I found myself in my kayak in the middle of a beautiful lake - remembering sitting in the same spot two years ago. The scenery and the music on my MP3 player hadn’t changed much – but I have changed. Two years ago I went out there and cried my heart out to God. The pain seemed too much to bear. My heart was crushed. My hope was dim. I didn’t know how I was going to cope. A Delirious song played as the tears poured down… “This mountain’s high, too high for us…” Then God whispered through another Delirious song, “Every little thing is gonna’ be all right…” I prayed…prayed for healing, for restoration, for strength, for hope…then pulled myself together and paddled back to shore, knowing God would bring me though – I just had to trust Him – one moment at a time. Those moments have now added up to two years. It has been a slow process – but God has brought healing, restoration, strength, and hope. Life is still full of struggles and stresses, but God has given me the peace of His presence. God does not promise of life without strife – but He does promise to never leave us. I can’t imagine my life without Him…
